This turned out far better than I expected :o

Tools used:

Apophysis 2.08 3D hack + apophymator script. [link]
FL Studio 8 (soundtrack composition)
Native Instruments DJ Traktor Studio (to get the 'stopping record' effect)
Soundforge6 (more processing of the soundtrack - reversing, etc)
VirtualDub (assembling the clips and creating the final movie file)
1 rusty, greasy, grimy, dusty, pre-historic 2.8GHz Celeron D cpu
Beer + smokes

Some stats:
~60hrs to render
15 keyframes w/ 300 frame interval
4120 frames rendered in apo (originally meant to be 4200 but got cut prematurely somehow)
quality @300

What about XviD, and are you sure you're using the latest compression for DivX?

@05:46DivX sucks, that was the first tried I codec. I'm going to do a x264/h264 compress when I get the time but dA don't have x264 support so I have to host off-site.:\

@05:46There are different version, and as far as I know, you have to pay for it. :o

XviD is free, but good quality.

Doesn't dA support XviD? :confused:

FAQ #832: What file formats are accepted for film?

The FAQ said it supports h264 :confused:

@05:46dA supports xvid/divx/h264 for upload, but all files are converted to divx on dA's end.
