Short video made with apophysis using the apophymator script [link] and an annoying, repetitious soundtrack to boot >.<

Hope you enjoy and I hope you don't get motion sickness watching it :D

EDIT:
-----
I uploaded a higher quality/resolution version of the video since dA re-encodes with too much compression and lowers the original resolution (848x480).
The file is uploaded here: [link] (There are 5 hosts to chose from) and should be available for a month or so, perhaps longer if it gets downloads.

@00:56I didn't have my speakers on so I didn't realize there was a sound track

Excellent work
So how many images did you have to render and what size to make it? (if you don't mind me asking of course)

@00:56About 1350 frames, rez @ 848x480 (DVD quality). For some reason, these flames rendered super fast so the entire thing was done rendering in under 4 hours.

@00:56That's a lot of frames - with the render time around 4 hours you must have done a batch render - right? Not to shabby
I've tried batch renders but the computer doesn't like em and crashes so rendering has to be one at a time no matter the size of image

Keep up the great work

@00:56Well not exactly a batch render. The apophymator script can automatically render all of the frames for a project so for short anims I let it do that but for some longer projects I will "tell" it just to calculate all the frames and save as a .flame file then I will batch-render those frames with apo alone, but I only do that because apophymator has no pause function. This way if I have to reboot or need my PC for something else I can stop/pause/cancel a batch then start rendering where I left off (provided I edit the flame file to delete all the flames I already rendered).

I'm rambling, aren't I? It's the beer. ahahaaha

@00:56The apophymator script is something I have not tried yet because of the batch render thing with this computer. And nope your not rambling I completely understand everything so no worries - thanks for the info btw.
Have you tried any pixel art stuff with PDN? I was going to give that a shot also but there doesn't seem to be any tuts for where to start with it anywhere. Just tuts for creating something - how the heck can one create the pixel stuff with no knowledge of how it works in the begining -- sheesh
Ok now I doing the rambling LOL

Actually, the apophymator rendering seems to be a lot more stable than apo's native batch render - I do have issues with batch rendering if I try using my puter while rendering but I found that I can cause my pc to be more responsive by changing the apophysis program to run at a lower priority level (this is EXTREME geeky haxor stuff so listen up :p)- whilst running apo in a batch render, hit ctrl+alt+del/delete to bring up the task manager menu and click the button marked "task manager". Scroll through the list of runnig apps until you find apophysis.exe. Right-click on it, hover over "set priority" and choose "below normal" or "Low" (click "Yes" at the warning). If that doesn't help then you are probably low on RAM so in that case you need to install more memory.

ramble, ramble, ramble........ beer.

Yup RAM is low but when one has no money coming in (other than the very little from the retirement)there just isn't any way to purchase any more - money suckssss!!!
Oh I'm drinking the last of my Crown Royal too so don't worry about the ramble :pc: stuff :relax: LOL

Mmmmmmm.... Crown..... Royal..... *HOMERDROOL*

Well I can understand the money situation since I've just recently been forced onto unemployment insurance because work was freaking stressing me out, I "exploded" so my boss suggested I take sick leave.... too much information.... beer.

I did get a bit dizzy watching this... Although the chiptune was a bit too Christmas-like for my taste.

I would've chosen Chronicle of Drunk - Destination Mars to help with the motion sickness.

All in all a fabulous render and animation. :D
