How do you get such wonderful color variation in your renders? Doesn't seems to matter how I play with my settings or what gradient I use, the color is always very flat. Know of any good tutorials on the subject?
I think I know what your problem is. For a quick fix, click the FLAME tab in apo then "Calculate Color Values". This will create an even spread/distribution of the gradient throughout all the transforms. If you add another transform, repeat the above process. You can also manually adjust the color sliders for each transform individually using the transform editor (colors tab).
As far as the actual gradients I use, there just randomly created. Here are my current settings (first click OPTIONS then options again then the gradient tab)
min nodes 3 max nodes 32 hue 0 , 600 saturation 70, 90 luminance 50, 90 (OK) Bring up the gradient editor, then double click on the color band (gradient), repeat until you find one that is suitable. (TIP: if you click the button to the left of the gradient, you can call up some more adjustment sliders like saturation, brightness, hue, etc. to fine tune your gradient a bit)
