Artist's Comments

Just a HD render of one of the frames from my upcoming animation. Sadly this render suffers from way too much "noise" again. 6000 quality still not enough :/

Not that I should be pointing it out, but in the Transform Editor, did you ensure that noise was set to 0 or a negative number? I've had some moderate experience in removing noise by putting in a low negative.

no, it's not so much the noise, but rather the way apo renders, for one thing I tend to boost the brightness a LOT when zooming out because apo tends to illuminate from the center outwards so much of the "noise" lies out on the periphery of the image - so boosting light boosts that noise. Now it may seem that a lot of the noise is actually NOT on the outer edges, that is due to the use of the curl3d variation in the final transform so it gets spread out all over the place. Apo is a tricky dicky. I hate it, I love it. :S

Well then, another option is post render *cringes*. You can clear it out using some post-render program (PS, etc). I tend not to work in any of them given that I prefer the ethereal quality of APO. Well that and sometimes I'm a complete minimalist.

Although,, I bet then you'll be simply setting up the IV on the beer, instead of just drinking buttloads of it. :D

At least it's good to hear that it only looks that way in exploded view. Good luck, and remember, if it works you, there's always Stepmania!

I don't really like to post edit my apo renders save for some minor color enhancements. I prefer to keep my fractals as pure (and mathematical) as possible. I just need a supercomputer so I can render at 12000000 quality, that's all! hahahaha

And now back to Stepmania and the 900 new tracks I downloaded :o
and the mud and the blood and the beer

Couldn't you drop the Gamma setting to help get rid of some of the noise - Just wondering of course
